Hi Everyone,
Busy...busy...busy...
I hope all of you had a great long weekend and you
are rested up to begin another event filled week.
CONCERT BANDS
You have sectional practice tomorrow right after
school. Please check the school fusion page for specific
information.
This Thursday, February 23, there is a Pre-Festival
concert at 7:30 pm in the auditorium. This concert
is an opportunity for the students to practice their
music pieces before they perform before the judges
at Libery High School on March 2 & 3.
WINTER GUARD
Winter guard performed their Stop
and Smell the Flowers show
at Broad Run Saturday and came in 8th
place out of 14 schools. Their score was a 57 which was
a 6 point improvement over their last competition.
Practice for this week will be Tuesday and Wednesday
from 4:30-6:30, Thursday 4:30-6:30, and Friday 5:00-9:00
at Woodbridge Middle School. The Thursday practice
is a sectional for those individuals using the rifle
and sabre in the performance.
A big thanks to the pit crew for all of their assistance
during the show setting up the props. You guys are
awesome!!
DRUMLINE
Drumline performed their Black
and White show at
Broad Run on Saturday as well and came in 3rd
place out of 11 schools. The drumline scored high enough
at their first competition to be moved up to a higher
division. Well done drumline for your 3rd place award
in your new division.
Practice for this week is on Wednesday beginning
at 6:30 pm. Please be sure you read your email from
Mr. Walker as he has given you homework.
Thank you parents for helping with the props/sideline
equipment. The day would not be a succesful as it
was without you.
MARCH 24 COMPETITION
Our hosting debut is fast approaching and in order
for this day to be a success, we are asking for everyone's
help. The link below will take you directly to the
sign up page. You can look over the slots that are
still available and in need of workers and you pick
where you would like volunteer. We can't do this
without you. STUDENTS...please sign up for either
the host or runner positions.

appreciated.

25 at James
Madison University. Registration begins early in
the morning, 8:00 am, I believe.
LOOKING AHEAD
We have a general booster meeting
on March 1, 2012, at 7:00 pm in the band room. It is imperative that
the members who have been nominated
for an Executive Board position be present at this meeting. Those
of you who were nominated, please be 100% positive
that you want to perform the role you were nominated
for.
The ballet looks like this:

KINGS DOMINION DAY TRIP
Mark your calendars. On April
28, 2012, we are taking
a day trip to Kings Dominion. Please read the attached
letter and form, fill out the form, place it in an
envelope marked KINGS DOMINION with your payment
to the silver box no later than March 29. If forms
and payments are not turned in by that date, you
will not be able to join us on this trip. We need
to give the Kings Dominion Rep enough time to mail
us the tickets.
Thank you everyone and have a great week.

Good morning
Everyone,
We had an exciting weekend. Our
drumline had their first competition at Thomas Jefferson
High School
and was awarded 1st place in their division with
a score of 84.5. Not only did they win first place
in their division, their score was the highest score
received for the entire competition. Excellent job
drumline!!
The next competition for drumline
and winter guard is February 18 at Broad Run High
School. The drumline
will perform at 10:09 am and the winter guard is
performning at 4:54 pm; unless an updated schedule
is distributed later this week that will alter these
times. Please come out and show your support in both
of these groups; I know the students will appreciate
it. The address for Broad Run is 21670 Ashburn Road,
Ashburn, VA 20147.
We still need volunteers to
sign up for our competition...this
includes students. In talking with a parent volunteer
at TJ yesterday, she stated they had 75 parent/student
volunteers in order to make their day a success.
We really need your help on March
24 for our competition.
I know many of you would be happy with being placed
at any location a volunteer is needed, but I really
need you to sign up for something. I am attaching
the sign up genius link so you can easily view the
areas that are still available.
Students, please sign up for runners or hosting a
school. We will place with the schools that are available
on the day of the competition.

Practice for drumline and guard will be as normally
scheduled; however, guard will practice at Woodbridge
Middle School on Friday from 5:30-9:00. Drumline's
report time for Saturday will be distributed to you
by Ms. Wohlrab and Guard's report time for Saturday
will be provided to you by Dr. Lowther during a practice
this week.
Thank you and have a great week.
