As you know, the Band Boosters are always on the lookout for new chances to raise money. Well, there's now some "free money" available for the Band Boosters, thanks to the hard work of Christine Wykle, who got everything established (see the Treasurer's Column in the February Newsletter). Now it's up to all of us to complete the task, and all it's going to take is a couple of clicks of your mouse, or one phone call.

If you shop at Safeway and/or Food Lion, you probably already have one of their savings cards in your wallet or purse, or perhaps you have a smaller version on your key ring (If you don't already, you should get them so you don't miss out on all those good deals listed in their ads each week!).

For Safeway: all you have to do is go to their website (www.escrip.com), or call 1-800-801-4973. Register "WSHS Band Boosters" (# 500003503) as the organization that you want to receive the money donated from the merchant. You can choose a total of three different organizations if you like.

For Food Lion: Go to their website (www.foodlion.com), look down the left hand column where it says "In the Community" and choose "Lion Shop and Share" or call 704-633-8250 ext3810 (M-F 9am - 8pm ET). Register "Woodbridge Senior HS Band Boosters". You can only choose one organization to benefit at any one time.

Please note that it will be necessary to renew your card each year (in the fall) in order to tell them that you are still active. But don't wait until the fall to try it out, there's still money out there that could be going to your Band Boosters right now!

Also, we're not limited to just the parents of students . . . anyone can register their cards to support the WSHS Band Boosters . . . friends, neighbors, grandparents . . . they don't even have to be local, just register and choose the Band Boosters, and then shop at Safeway and Food Lion as they regularly do.

One final note about Food Lion: we don't start earning any $$ until we have at least 25 cards register "Woodbridge Senior HS Band Boosters", so even if you have no intention of ever shopping at Food Lion, you'd still be helping out if you just obtained a card and registered it.
